Remote API Gateway

The Remote Api Gateway enables HTTP read and writes for OPC UA and Modbus TCP protocols.

The Remote API Gateway is a lightweight application deployable as a Docker container on SecureEdge Pro routers. It enables the collection and distribution of data from industrial devices in a simple and uniform way via APIs. The app is designed to collect data from various sources, and make it accessible through standardized API endpoints.

Remote API Gateway can read data from industrial devices via OPC UA and Modbus, collecting it from PLCs and sensors. Admins can connect OPC UA or Modbus TCP data sources and issue API keys to client applications, enabling secure read/write access to these sources.

The data is exposed through standard APIs, making it easier to integrate with external systems such as MES, ERP, or cloud platforms. The app features a user-friendly web interface for fast and easy configuration. A valid license is required to operate the app—please contact Webion for licensing and setup assistance.

In order to install the app, one needs a valid license file.

The app only works on SecureEdge Pro models, as it leverages the docker capabilities of the device.

When configuring the image, a volume mount on the /app/data path is required, as the application will store its in-memory database there.

On first start, the app will automatically create an Admin user with default credentials, which can then be changed from the web interface.
